What happens in these yoga classes?

Susan’s teaching focuses on health. Students are encouraged to work carefullyinto postures in ways that suit their current health. Adaptations for postures are always offered so that everyone can participate. We are building a wonderfully diverse community. Everyone is welcome.

Classes begin with gentle breath-work to help students settle to the practice. We then move through a structured sequence of yoga postures (asana) linked to the breath, which stretch and strengthen the body and bring many other benefits. The yoga practices close with deep relaxation to rest, restore and rejuvenate.

Who is the teacher?

Susan has been established as a yoga teacher in the Yarm/Stokesley/Great Ayton community for more than 15 years. Her long-term study with internationally recognised teacher Paul Harvey, continues to deepen and refresh her teaching so that she can offer new insights to her students.

A thirty year career in education has given Susan the skills to plan classes and courses which are purposeful, progressive and safe. Each half term is structured as a gently developing themed course which supports each student’s personal growth and physical progress. Examples of past courses include: building strength in the legs and back, improving concentration, changing unhealthful habits and ways of using breath work for relaxation purposes.

Half term courses are bookable in advance. Payment by BACS, cash or cheque. £8 per class.  e.g.  6 week courses £48.
